Default AOD to C4 conversion

My transmission has given up on life.I was wanting to convert to a C4 with full manual valve body and a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. Anyone else done this? It effectively makes it a six speed of sorts. My biggest question now is what do I need to convert to the C4?

You'll need a C4, correct flex plate and a cross member for that transmission.

Ok. Obviously I need the transmission. Is the drive shaft the same?

Yes. You can reuse the drive shaft. I suppose my first reply was a little vague. You can use your stock drive shaft and cross member. The cross member will need to be moved forward. You will need to run new cooling lines! Braided hose and - an fittings work great! Your speedo cable will attach the same as the AOD. Your nuturial safety switch and back up light wiring will be to short and will need to be modified! If you plan on running long tube headers you'll want the small bell housing with the 157 tooth flex plate. If you want to reuse your flex plate from your AOD you'll need the big bell housing on the C4. Your stock AOD flex is a 164 tooth and will only fit in the larger bell housing! You'll most likely need a shifter. B&M,Hurst etc. Pretty sure the B&M comes, with a kit that can help with the wiring.

I actually plan on running a Hellion turbo kit. I have a B&M shifter waiting to be installed and was wondering if it would work with it.

It should work as long as you get the C4 conversion kit to go with it.
