T-stat ?
I am putting a trick flow track heat top end kit on my 89. So it will be aluminum heads..Am also adding a 3core al. Radiator... My question is what is the lowest temp t-stat I can run and my computer still run in a closed loop?? My current fan setup cuts on at 200 and off at 185 is that too hot??Thanks in advance for advice..

Factory set up is usually 195 thermostat, but you can get away with a 185 and still go into closed loop, I wouldn't advise any lower than that though. Normally they do run about 200-215 depending on the weather and if your in slow traffic. On the highway though there is enough air passing the radiator to keep it below 200.

how many cars that are factory produced with aluminum heads run hotter than 200 do you think exist?? I'll answer that......tons!! mini coopers for one run 215-217 on average and the gauge reads right in the middle at that range for those cars.....200 is not hot..........225-230+ start to be concerned...180 is the best overall performance stat
