Default Different Tuning Chips

Ok so I am curious what peoples opinions are on going with either an sct 4 bank chip from american muscle with the mail order tunes or a moates quarterhorse and wideband combo (obviously much more expensive). I have no experience with the tuning programs for the quarterhorse so is it better for me to stick with the sct or is the qh tuning something I could learn from scratch as I go without screwing my car up? I find the moates to be the more interesting prospect since you are more directly involved in the process but is it going to be useless as I am not experienced with the actual tuning? Thanks in advance

My car will sometimes stall out from idle until it has been driven a little and is definitely running a bit rich. I've taken it to a few diffferent mechanics and they checked everything over and have all said it seems more like a tuning issue not a mechanical one.

Its pretty stock I would say. Mostly generic things like a cai, msd ignition system and coil (maybe this?), flowmaster catbacks with xpipe and shorty headers, advanced timing and smog pump delete. I will be installing a new intake manifold soon either a gt40 or another intake depending on what I can find locally. But overall its very lightly modified so I am a bit confused why it would need it.

a tune is not gonna solve your problem.........your mods are basic and should not be causing much of an issue.......better find the root cause or all a tune will do is mask the underlying issue and not solve it. = waste of money on a tune until issue is solved......find a different mechanic.

+1 ^^^

Don't waste your money, as stated above find an experienced mechanic, or become your own with this forum, Google, and YouTube.

Pull codes first, step by step directions are a quick Google search away, and are simple and free. Then let us know what comes up.
