Coil Over Kit Question

Coil Over Kit Question
Hey guys, a buddy of mine is giving me a coil over kit (without struts) on this car I just helped him part out. It has QA1 12-350 springs and I'm pretty sure it's this coild over kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hal-cok104 .
1. since my car is for the street, will those springs be too stiff?
2. will I need the Maximum Motorsports clearance tool?
3. what struts should I go with? I was thinking either Koni yellow, strange 10 way adjustibles, or QA1's.
Thoughts?

Nah they wont be too stiff. I got 325 springs on mine and it tight but not too bad. I cant push the front of the car down though. Makes it handle a lot better. You shouldnt need the clearance tool. I think thats mostly for the sn95 and new edge cars. As far as shocks go its your preference. Ive had the strange ones before and now have HD bilstiens form MM. My brother is running Tokico D shocks and they are a nice peice.

That sounds about right for a street car. I have 125s on the front of my car. LOL The strange adjustables are nice street dampers but also allow you to dial in a very aggressive drag race launch at the track.

The problem I have been having is whenever I have to brake and turn, the damn tires are hitting the fender wall. I have the Ford Racing B springs(half inch lower) and basically stock struts. I also hit a bump too hard two weeks ago and the damn tire went up so far that it pushed a bolt in the fender wall up and it cracked the paint (outer fender wall at the very top). I said, enough is enough already.
I'm basically looking for that 50/50 spot of being able to take bumps and turns, but mainly just solving this issue.
I have it down to either the Koni Yellows or the Strange. I found out the the kit is a 2.2 inch diameter kit, and QA1 does not make a shock/strut that will match ....their own.........coil over kit..... lol

I am running 255's in the front. Next time I'm going 245's, but there is no sense tossing money out the window, so I'll keep them until the tread gets low. I think the coil over kit should solve my issue. Worst case I get a stiffer spring or raise the ride height a little bit. I'm sure either the Koni's or the Strange will work.
