Default Possibly a bad tps?

So I'm having a problem at wide open throttle...the car will kind of sputter and not really rev too good at wot. It even backfires sometimes if I hold it at wot while driving. The car runs really good and idles fine otherwise. This problem use to happen only once in a while but is doing it all the time now. Timing is at 12 degrees with spout out. Not sure if tps is bad...

bust out a meter and check it, or take it in and have someone check it for you. you could also be going lean, check fuel pressure, and MAF for contamination

Fuel pressure is fine, I have a fuel pressure gauge. What should the voltage be on the tps?

I will have to check the voltage on it as soon as the rain stops here. Is it possible to have a code even though the engine light isn't on?

with obd 1 your lucky to get a code at all, if the failure is within the operational range it will not set a code, obd1 didnt use a rationale check

why?........setting tps to a specific voltage is a myth and does nothing if you understand the programming doc for the eec iv, anything between .7-1.00 vdc is fine.

When testing the TPS for voltage, remember to also do a sweep test looking for dips or spikes in voltage.

run a koeo/koer test and see if a code comes back for tps or do a manual sweep test with a dvom
