Ok so I swapped out the tps with one I had on a stock throttle body I had laying around...set the tps to 0.90 and it went over 4.00 volts at wot. Did a base idle reset and still the same problem. If i hit wot while the car is sitting it does the same thing as when I'm driving. When it gets to about 3k rpm's is when the problem happens. Could it be a spark issue? Has new plugs, cap and rotor, new fuel filter, fuel pressur is where it should be. The ignition coil is new also. Possibly a bad pip in the distributor? Such a pain!! Also does a base idle reset need to be done every time the tps is adjusted?

tps does not need constant adjustment................, .9x setting is a myth......anything from .7-1.0vdc is fine

No cats on it..smog pump has been removed also. I did have a problem about 2 years ago where it was doing something a little similar to this, but not this bad. I swapped out the distributor and it ended up fixing the problem. I just don't remember it being at wot. That's why I'm kinda leaning towards the pickup in the distributor now...it was a used distributor I put in back then

So I swapped out the distributor today with a new stock one and still having the same problem...new distributor, cap and rotor, ignition coil, plugs and wires are fine, new fuel filter, fuel pressure is perfect, I'm stumped! Could the maf cause the car to break up and feel like it has a loss of power? It has an sn-95 maf on it currently.

Is the MAF OEM? Aftermarket units don't have a great track record from what I've heard. It could need cleaning, especially if you have an oiled air filter like a K&N.
