if your timing is too retarded, it will cause the charge to burn late and this will cause the headers to get really hot, like glow red hot. before you check all sorts of other stuff, set your timing

Found the problem. in the new trick flow elbow adapter we drilled and tapped the egr hole. but 1 of the bolt holes to bolt the EGR tube on was a through hole and not plugged. runs better now but not perfect.

it shakes really bad at idle, which it doesnt idle well. runs pretty good at higher rpm. all vacuum lines are good or plugged.
only codes being thrown are for EGR - has none and Thermactor solenoids (bypass & diverter) which all the smog is removed. those dont need to be tricked or anything correct? car does haven the EGR simulator also. i believe it is an ignition problem. but all new plugs and wires, i keep playing with distributor but cant get it out of it. firing order is correct for HO & E303 cam. IAC is clean.
