Injector questions. EV1/EV6
Hey guys, I'm doing a GT40 heads and intake swap and have a few questions about fuel injectors. After doing some research I see that the 2 I have access to here are the EV1's off my stock foxbody and the EV6's off the 96 explorer. http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/...85ffe41dbd.jpgThey are both the Jetronic connector and I think they are both 19 lb/hr injectors (???). I saw on google that people generally say the EV6's are better because of their spray pattern and such (I see they have 4 nozzles instead of the one pintle on the EV1). But I also saw their resistances were different. Here's some questions:
Can I simply connect the explorer injectors into my mustangs computer and it won't know the difference?
The explorer I got them off of were very high miles, is it likely they will do more harm than good? (mustang is low miles)
Is there more I can do than just a resistance check?
Is 19 lb/hr good enough for GT40 set up with mild cam? According to what I saw online I don't think I could go over the 19 lb/hr hp rating but not sure.
Should I just use the explorer's fuel rail and wiring? (haven't looked into this much).
If I was reading this I'd say just to look up my hp rating for that set up and buy a new set of injectors to match it. But one, injectors are expensive! I'm on a super tight budget (bet you heard that before :P). And two, I don't want to run into computer tuning problems that will cost me more money (unless it's necessary).
Thanks for the help

Don't the EV6 injectors have the USCAR wiring connector? if that's the case you'll need to get the adaptor clips. 19 pound injectors are good enough for a GT40 set up. If you plan on more mods down the road it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to 24s. Keep and use all of your mustang wiring.

I think I saw some online that way and it made it a little more difficult to research them because many people were saying the adapters were needed and such but actually with the two you see in the picture, both wiring connectors are exactly the same (rectangle with rounded edges).
I am trying to build the motor right now so that down the road, when the engine is back in the car, I can do simple mods like MAF and injectors without pulling out the engine again, SO I am putting my money into both the cam and getting the heads machined up properly.
