Default Ford 302 horsepower goals

Hey guys you can probably tell by the title what the subject is about. I'm rebuilding a ford 302 from the ground up. So my question to you guys is what heads, cam, intake etc... Will I need to achieve to magic number. I'm trying to achieve 350 horsepower to the rear wheels naturally aspirated. My other question is I did buy a ford racing E303 cam will this help me achieve my goal or will I need a better cam?

There are some guys on here that will tell you exactly what you'd need, I'm not one of them. But I can tell you, if you want 350 at the wheels, you'll need to go bigger than a 302, and send that cam back if you can. Not saying 350 isn't doable, I'm at 340ish at the crank with my basic bolt on build, but that's not the norm with E7 heads.

You'll need a stroker kit, 347 is the norm. Do some research here and see what others have used and they're results. There's probably 1000 threads already on this subject in this forum alone. Good luck in whatever way you go, should be a fun car.

I made 305rwhp with afr185 heads, comp cam xe274 cam and edelbrock rpm2 intake on a 302.

if you are getting some pistons, if you raise the compression to 10-1 with some similar heads or something a bit bigger, 350 is doable at the tires.

you could always get a replacement for displacement though to make up for it. (s/c, turbo, nitrous)

junk the e-cam...it won't hit your goal..........347 with right h/c/i and supporting mods will easily hit your goal........if you want 350 out of a 302 , a very well thought out combo, all supporting mods, a bottom end with good pistons and good ring seal = machine work is key and the "right cam" and proper valvetrain and pay attention to all detail when assembling and you'll be very close to 350 rwhp but it'll take a lot of research as to know what to pay attention to and proper parts to select......www.flowtechinduction can get you started...all the rest fall below ED! NO EXCEPTIONS.
