What's considered normal oil pressure?

my 85 is a 347, but that is irrelevant when talking about oil pressure, it is around 23-25 at 900-1000, mine is carbed.........but my 89 is efi and it has a 306 and is the same at 1000 hot idle

Yeah thats what it shows on my mechanical autometer gauge. Like I say it had me worried at first but then I found that it was okay.
On a different subject, my 1950 8n tractor has about 8 psi at idle. Granted it has a completely different oiling system but it has ran like that for years even after a rebuild.

Tap into the red/yellow wire under the dash. I want to say there is one down at the door chime just below the left side of dash next to the center console. You can also pick up a ground there as well as the back light for the gauge. That wire should be brown.

WTF!? I purchased an auto meter ultra lite oil pressure gauge (4327) and the sending unit does not fit! It has this big fat lip on it that is rubbing against the block and keeping me from screwing it in. WTF!?

The problem is the big lip on the new sending unit. It is rubbing against the block JUST ENOUGH for me to not be able to screw it in. I could sand down the unit, but that sounds like a horrible idea. The pictures do not do it justice, but trust me, it's rubbing. If I had even a 15 degree 1/4 NT adapter fitting, I think it would clear. Damn auto meter.
Also, do to the vibrations, will I be safe with the adapter fittings or should I buy a stainless steel line and relocate it? I just heard a horror story (with a different car) about somebody breaking two of these in their block.
