What's considered normal oil pressure?

Oh sweet. I didn't think it would matter either way. Pressure should build up no matter what. I was hoping for the 6-8 o'clock position, but it wanted to be there, so I'm like "it clears, it's snug......... don't F with it."
Great part, thank you very much!

as long as it doesn't leak and it works, your good to go!!

Hey guys finally got all my gauges in (long story, a lot of things going on in my life now), and I started it up. I went a head and did an oil change while it was sitting and used 10W-30 with a Purolator oil filter. The oil pressure gauge stayed at 52 PSI even when it warmed up to 180 degrees. When I gave it a small rev it would climb a little. My idle is at 1,100-1,200 right now (waiting on tuner), but I have not drove it yet. I just wanted it to idle for tonight and check for leaks and problems. Wouldn't 52 psi be a little high once it's warm or should I drive it? Based on everybody else's feedback I figured 40-50 would be normal when cold then it would drop. Could the oil filter have much to do with it either?

Ok. Thanks for that! Like I said, I just let it idle for tonight to do a quick shake down. I'll probably drive it tomorrow. If it stays at 50 PSI after I drive it a little should I be concerned?

But..........over analyzing this is.........sort of my thing. That's why they call me Joe-ARP. lol Even my rear differential cover bolts are ARP. LMAO
I ran it today for a good 35 miles. The pressure went down to 46 PSI it idle (1,100 rpms). This is my first oil gauge, so I was not sure what to expect.

I found a problem with mine 2 weeks ago. My oil pressure gauge is mounted in the cowl of my hood and I have a short AN line running over to a bulkhead fitting on the hood. I took the hood off to repaint it and had to remove my gauges. When I removed it I noticed the hose had a slight kink in it. Today I fired the car up after replacing the hose and at a cold idle it had about 50 psi. Thats running 10w-30 oil with bearing clearances around .0018-.0025.
