all done.

the outer neck was kinda rusty, i cleaned it up. then i was banging the neck on the exhaust hanger bracket thing and rust flakes were coming out. i kept banging it til nothing more came out. i hope whatever if anything is left in the neck wont cause problems. i would have gotten a new one but there would be 2 problems: 1. i couldnt figure out how to get the old neck out. i mean, i could get the end out of the tank, but theres a flange on the other end near the top that is in between the gas tank door and the body panel. flange is bigger than the opening so it looks like i would need to take a bunch of stuff apart to get it out and i was afraid to get into it. 2. i didnt see a replacement on lmr.

so, lets say theres some mild rust on the inside of the filler neck. i know the whole point of this was because i was totally loaded with rust on the inside. but, lets say theres a little rust left, did i was my time and money, or is it just gonna get trapped by the fuel pump sock?

new pump works so it doesnt appear to have been a voltage issue btw. seems the pump primes not as long as i remembered it should. probably primes for like 2-3 seconds. pressure appears to be there, so...
