Default Firing order

Is it possible to be one number off all the way around and still run decent. For instance when you look at the distributor where the number one plug should be mine is number 8. The order is correct I'm just off counter clockwise.

It might run but it wont be decent. Timing would be off. The pickup in the dizzy has 1 blade that is thinner to signify to the pcm cylinder number 1. I will say that is the dizzy is off 1 tooth the engine will not run.

The distributor CAN be off by so much that you need to move the wires to get it to run. However, it will have serious effects on your fuel injector spray timing, which can either cause them to spray way too early, or way too late... depending on how bad you've stabbed the distributor.
