Did they rebalance the 3.8 flywheel? If not it would be a rough running sucker. The larger 3.8 164 tooth flywheel fills the space in the larger bellhousing which is why the 5.0 starter worked. They have the same bolt spacing and teeth on the drive gear. Here's a picture. http://www.dariusrudis.com/mustang/tko/images/starter.jpg

At this point... I'd be taking it all out and buying the right parts

no. the 5.0 flywheel wont work with your 3.8l clutch.

As I said before, I'd be looking for the correct parts for your car. You'll need a 94-95 bellhousing to keep using that transmission. You're almost better off just starting over.

The input shafts on the 94-95 t5 are a little longer than fox t5 so the bellhousings were made longer to compensate or vice versa. 64bit is right just start over. Unfortunately this is what happens when you buy someone else's project.

sn95 v6 trannys are easy to get and I dont plan on beating it.if I get a 94-95 5.0 bellhousing can I still use the fox flywheel and fox clutch on the v6 trans?

in other words do the 94-95 5.0's use the 10.5 50oz flywheel or do they use the 11"
