TPS Sensor Adjustment (to do or not to do)
Hey guys I have a 94 mustang that I dropped a 5.0L into with a 5spd. It has an explorer upper and lower intake with a bbk 70mm throttle body (fox style convert). I have been told by some that you need to adjust the tps to make it work properly and I have been told my some others that you should not adjust the tps. What is the proper way to get it to work and why should I do that? It is throwing a 122 koeo code right now.

I have a fox body TPS on it already as I had to modify the wiring harness to get the fox tps to plug into the harness. I am not sure off the top of my head where the voltage is at I am just trying to find out if I need to adjust it or if just putting it in stock will work. Some people have mentioned that you need to drill out the sides where it screws in so you can twist it a little bit to change the voltage but I wasn't sure if that is true or not. The TPS that is currently on the throttle body came with the throttle body so it could be bad as well just trying to narrow it down before I get a new one. Also I am not right by my car right now so I can't check the voltage.

Yeah all you need is the low voltage ready like 64 bit said. the pcm will auto correct itself every time you start it as to what closed throttle is. The whole slotting holes and setting tps at .99 volts is bs.

Your question has been answered 2 times above . You need to know the TPS voltage before knowing if it needs adjusting. If it's within the spec's stated above, don't adjust it. The computer sets that voltage as idle voltage and works off that.
Also, when checking TPS voltage, do a sweep test, looking for spikes or dips in readings.
Good luck
