The compressor replaces the alternator's spot. When I replace my distributor tomorrow, I will get a comparison measurement.
And what happens with the alternator?

Thanks for the input!

It appears a 11.xx second car is in the realm of possibility here.

I'm sorry bro, I just realized you have a 94 style engine. It will be different than my 93.

just by blindly guessing by looking at pics on the web, I doubt you have hood clearance issues

oh, you will be fine then. The alternator is moved to the bottom of the vortech bracket the charger sits on. The smog pump or delete pulley sits below the charger and the alternator is then located under the smog pump.

Would love to see a picture if you can get a clear one from front and side.

Read through about half the thread, and now i see blower talk, if you're still on that 7.5 rear end you might want to start looking into an 8.8 swap

Sadly, it appears that it won't readily fit. The builder said they have done some 8.8 before but takes more work and fabrication and easier to install the 7.5.

I am not going to go crazy on the blower department, the goal is to reach 11.xx in the 1/4 mile (or faster if possible) and stay 50 stay smog legal. From what I have read, this pretty much means a bone stock 302 and I will go with probably the small blower at 5-6psi which isn't much considering the boosting possibilities.

I honestly am not sure if this matters (physics has always been my nemesis), but does the HP of the motor AND the weight of the car come into play when it comes down to the differential holding up or shattering or does it not matter and one washes out the other?

Yes, the stress on parts ( motor, tranny, driveshaft, rearend, etc ) is less on a lighter car as they don't have to work as hard to do their job. But bumping HP up does offset that to some degree.

Your 7.5" may be fine for years so come with street tires. But at the track, with sticky tires, and 11sec. abilities, the 8.8 would be a huge peace of mind.

Did they give any details in why it's more work ? I always thought the outside dimensions were pretty close to each other.
