Radio and clock memory loss
#12
So I found out that the driver's side dome switch is bad. And I took the car to the shop and found out that the clock fuse was blown (somehow I missed that when checking fuses) and the radio was wired up to the clock somehow. So now the radio keeps the memory, I just have to hit the power button on it to turn it on and off because it doesn't turn on and off with the car because of how it's hooked up

My car does the same thing. I've found that if I don't touch the window crank the windows stay up.
And yes, I do amuse myself at times lol.
Seriously though, sounds like someone was messing with the wiring in this car. Is this a new car to you ? Or possibly a bad ignition switch that isn't cutting power when the key is off. Does anything else have power with the key off ?

The radio has power when the key is off. And yes, this is somewhat a new car to me. I hit a deer very soon after getting it, and it's been in the body shop every since. Just recently got it back. Also, I just had a new ignition switch installed because that's what I thought the problem was initially. The only thing it fixed was that the steering wheel now locks after I shut the car off, which it didn't do before.

Well it sounds like your slowly fixing the problems you have with the car. Have you been able to look at the wiring harnesses in the car? I would imagine someone has been messing around in there. Under the dash and in the door panel?
