Default Low Fuel Pressure

My fuel pump went bad on my 94 5.0. I have replaced the fuel pump with a BBK electric pump fuel filter and I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator but I can't get the car to crank. And my fuel pressure is only showing that I have 20lbs of pressure. The car will crank when I sprayed gas down the throttle body so I know the problem is in the fuel delivery system. Any idea please help! Thanks

Your post is confusing. You say the car won't crank, but it will crank when you spray gas down the throttle body? So your car will crank it's just not starting?

Welcome!

Please be clear how you word things. "Spraying gas down the throttle body" has no effect on whether a car will crank over or not. "Cranking" has to do with the starter's ability to turn the engine, period.

I think you're trying to say that the car cranks but does not fire unless you manually add starting fluid (or in your case, gas). 20PSI is too low, so let's focus on that. Did you prime the system and bleed the air out? Is there any chance you pinched or damaged a fuel line during reassembly?

Sorry I'm new to this. Car will not start unless gas put directly into the throttle body. I have checked the fuel pressure at the rail and it's only gettin 20lbs. The actual fuel lines were never touched.

How would I know if there is air in the line? And how would I go about bleeding it out

Priming the lines is as simple as turning the key to "ON" a few times (without starting it). If you push the little plunger in the schrader valve, fuel should squirt out.

How did you replace the fuel pump without touching the lines? Did you drop the tank or cut a hole in the trunk for access?

Dropped the tank. Only places where the lines were touched was reconnecting them to the fuel pump hanger after the pump was put in. Gas does come out at the valve. That's where I tested the pressure on it after the pump and regulator was replaced.

I think I've narrowed it down to the fact that the fuel pump is only getting 7.9 volts. Would that be the problem with the pump not supplying enough pressure? And is the low voltage a sign that there is something wrong with the CCRM?

There's your problem, you definitely need 12v to run the pump. Give the wiring a good once over for clean connections and grounds. Testing voltage along the way...

Gonna check the CCRM and see what the voltage is there. As far as I know there's no other connection between there and the interia switch or am I wrong?
