Moates Quarter Horse Tuning

Myself personally, I think every 5.0 owner should buy one and get familiar with its inner workings.
I currently use one in my turbo 351w Cobra. And it was easily the best $250 I've ever spent on my car.
So, do what you want. But just know that even the "holy grail" a9l piece of junk, can benefit greatly by having some of the silliness adjusted out of it.

Okay, I respect your opinion and all I meant to say was can you provide a little more personal experience with it if you're going to flat out say "buy it"...which you did. It seems like people are a little divided on this subject but I'm betting it would be a good decision to buy it and yeah if you're gonna have a 5.0 today, it's good to know it like the back of your hand.

I have a QH that I run with tunerproRT and I stand by it. There is a steep learning curve to it if ur gonna tune the car urself. efidynotuning.com has some write ups in there that u might want to have a look at. They will help u understand more or less how tuning works. Then u can decide for urself if u really want a QH or not.
But like orangepeel said, u should b able to get away with the stock tune. As long as the air flow is metered accurately (i.e. no vacuum leaks, well grounded o2 sensors, etc...)
Out of curiosity, do u have a fuel pressure regulator on the car? Is the MAF sensor in the stock 55mm housing? And r ur o2 sensors fairly new and properly grounded?

I plan on putting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in soon either BBK , Aeromotive, or Kirban. The MAF is stock and the o2 sensors are new and properly grounded.I've checked for vacuum leaks and can't find any, although I've been hearing a whistling from what I believe to be the intake manifold when accelerating. My idle can be very nice but then also slightly jumpy at times and I keep telling myself that there's got to be a vacuum leak somewhere. I want to take off the upper intake and make sure everything is torqued down because I put the GT40 in this past summer. Been trying to get the car running perfect but it smells rich.

Ok, I asked because those 3 things have caused me similar problems in the past. If ur gonna get the FPR then I would recommend getting the QH and TunerproRT. as for the idle problem, I feel the tune is the more likely cause. Not to say its not a vacuum leak, check again for leaks and if u cant find any, I would consider getting a custom tune.
Sorry I couldn't b of any more help...

No worries man thanks for the input. Fortunately there's a performance shop with a dyno 10 minutes from my house and there's a guy who specializes with the fox bodies and he can just reflash my current chip or tune my Quarterhorse if I get it. Also I don't think I have any vacuum leaks as I've been hearing from people that my combo with the 70mm TB and cold air intake likes to cause whistling. Apparently there's the idle air control plate from Latemodel restoration that fixes that. The tune has to be the culprit of it running rich. Time to spend money....
