Default Cranking problem

I have a cranking problem. Car is turning over but not cranking. I have changed fuel pump and pressure regulator. I think that my computer has went bad. For some odd reason the car is turning over but not cranking and steady staying at 500 rpm while cranking.... And ideas?

I'm confused. Does it crank or not? Does the starter engage and turn the engine?

+1 ^^^

Engine turning over and engine cranking are the same thing.

I think what your trying to say is the motor is not firing when your trying to start it. Is there any sign of life at all ??? Any spit or sputter where the motor does fire occasionally when cranking ?

Check to make sure you have spark first as that's always the first step. If you have spark, now check for fuel at the plugs. Are they wet with fuel ?

Let us know which of those 2 your missing.

im sorry guy i have been kinda busy. Wintertime makes you not want to fool with cars. my car is cranking but not start. hopefully this makes things sound more clear. I have been trying to troubleshoot and researching on youtube. It sounds like electrical. i have change the fuel pump and regulator. i disconnected the fuel line going to the injectors and the fuel is getting to that point. i also checked the first coil and its has spark. im leaning towards changing ECU ( brainbox). Think thats the right next step?

Start by checking your battery. Make sure that the connections are clean and tight. Also, ignore how "strong" it sounds like it's cranking: charge the battery (preferably with a nice 2amp overnight charge) and load-test it. (They can do this for free at a local parts store.)

If it still won't start after verifying that the car is getting enough power, try a quick spray of starting fluid in the intake to verify whether you're missing spark or fuel.

i have sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body and was hoping it was a battery issue. but not the case. Its a strong cranking sound. like at the brink of starting up but not quite.

Will it fire on starting fluid ? If so, verify the injectors are firing. Inside the dizzy, there's a PIP sensor that tells when to activate the injectors. If that signal is missing, the injectors aren't working
