Default TFS1 cam

i have an 87 fox. I have put 1.7 crane rockers and GT40P heads on it. can I put a TFS1 cam in it and run stock push rods? I have heard yes and no. Can someone with experience tell me if it is possible without changing pushrods?

thank you

Unless you did a lot of machine work on the heads or block your pushrods should be stock length. Buying new hardened ones would be cheap insurance though. I'd be more inclined to match new lifters with a new cam. Also did you get upgraded valve springs on your heads? A more aggressive cam with 1.7 rockers will put a lot of strain on those springs.

I have
302 (not milled)
TFS1
GT40 heads (not milled)
Ford Racing OEM lifters
Alex's Parts GT40 head drop in spring kit
Proform 1.6 pedestal roller rockers
Stock valves with valve job
Std. length pushrods non-hardened

I did the lifter preload procedure and found the stock length was appropriate. You have 1.7's and such so I don't know if this is helpful at all or not. I would think either way you should just follow whatever the manufacturer procedure is to check your pushrod length once you have it mostly together.
