Default 347 Stroker swap

hello everyone i know i'm new here but i have some questions. i have a 1995 mustang GT that is bone stock except for the cadlic converters have been removed due to my stepdad years ago (smh). a friend of mine had a 347 stroker motor that was abandoned in his garage and i acquired it from him for very very cheap to clear up space. this motor was just on a motor stand and came out of a 1985 mustang gt. it has a ford racing 303f cam, 1.7 rocker arms, apr push rods, windosor jr roush heads and forged pistons, the motor has been bored .40 over. i think i have covered all the details i know about this motor and i wanted some advise on swapping it over to my 95GT and using some of the 95's parts on the motor to make sure it bolts up correctly like the oil pan, water pump, intake throttle body and stuff like that. i'm sorry to sound like a novice but this is my first dealings with a motor swap. also i forgot to mention this 95 mustang is an automatic as well.

All your accessories will bolt to the new motor. Oil pan, flex plate etc. It's a very easy swap.

Should I worry about getting a new intake or having the stock one ported? I also plan on getting a bbk cold air intake. Would this be a good investment? The only other think I'm worried about is the valve covers with 1.7 rockers would I have any issues there ?

Depends on your goals. If you want to make power. Sure get a new intake manifold. The stock one sucks! Tall valve covers are not that expensive. I run a 363 stroker in my 95 and everything that fit on the 302. Fits on the 363.

Yes you'll want a new intake manifold. The stock one was simply adequate for a 302. With that you definitely need to upgrade your air tract and throttle body. Again, the stock parts weren't made to supply the volume of air your 347 will need to make power.

You can wait, the car won't care. But you'll be leaving quite a bit of power on the table.

Think of the engine as a simple air pump, the more air you can get in and out of the motor efficiently, the more power you'll get. Right now that 347 is starving for air but it'll still run fine till you upgrade.

Understood thank you the motor is being installed tomorrow but I don't have the funds for a cold air intake throttle body or new intake at this point. And why are intakes so expensive? Like 800$ for an eldebrock one on American muscle

Going fast is expensive. You don't even wanna know how much I have invested in my 95. Like you said. You got the motor on the cheap. Upgrade as funds allow. You should make ruffly 20 more crank hp just from the extra cubes right now.

Also, if funds are tight, there's always used parts. My Notch is nothing but used parts. Craigslist, eBay, local swap meets, etc. Do some research on whatever your looking to upgrade next and just start looking now to get a feel for decent prices. That's the best thing about these Fox's....... going fast on the cheap.

Except for blue's car, he's probably got $2000 stuck into it.......lol

Or was that just the brakes, ..........
