5.0 v.s. 4.6

RE: 5.0 v.s. 4.6
As we are all biased on the 5.0, the 4.6 is the best bang out of the box. Completely stock for stock the 4.6 would easily take the 5.0 in the 1/4 mile, but they are pretty close on top speed. Now correct me if I'm wrong but you can't get the same performance from bolt ons i.e. CAI, underdrives blah blah blah from 5.0s as you can from the 4.6s, I'm not talking about intake manifolds or headers or nothing I don't really consider those bolt ons. True that they, the newer 4.6s, are more expensive and they are not as responive to mods such as heads and intakes, but that is where the 5.0 dominates. The 4.6s dominate on small bolt ons and out of the box performance. But since I do have a 5.0 and if I had the money I still wouldn't buy a 4.6 I voted for the 5.0.

RE: 5.0 v.s. 4.6
Hey there,
I pick the 5.0 yes parts are cheaper and all , dont get me wrong id still take a cobra any day of the week any model. However I like muscle cars and heres the point. With so many vendors out there for the 5.0 and the abundance of parts Im almost guranteed that mine is an original one. There are thousands upon thousands of combo's the the 5.0 and I like having what no other person has.

RE: 5.0 v.s. 4.6
My dad currently has a t-bird with a cobra motor that is also supercharged. He is making about 420 to the wheels. Its a pretty badass car, but I wouldn't want it. He bought the car as such, but he added up the reciepts to do the all the work to the motor, installation (a lot was installed by the owner, so it wasn't too much) and stuff and it was over 30 grand (also included suspension, drivetrain stuff too). Now those are decent #'s but that is way too damn much money for that much power/handling, especially when compared with what I could have built for a 5.0. I would definately go for the 5.0.
