well you put this in the 5.0 section so most of your replys will be for the 5.0, but i would take a 5.0 first, the sound better IMO, but their is nothing wrong with the sound of a 4.6. if i had they money i would have one of each.

Its not that you can get more parts for the 5.0 because you can basically get ANYTHING for each without a problem (a few parts have exceptions) but the 5.0 is just alot cheaper. And they are great if you want to do your own work, they are cheap, simple, and they will haul *** w/ a few minor bolt ons.

Default 5.0

okay.. ill chime in to.... i say 5.0 i love the torque and stuff the motor makes just with small mods... mine just has gears, a shifter, and high flow h pipe and flowmasters and i can ripp gears and just move out.... i got the chance to drive a 95 mystic cobra with borla side exit exhaust.... now yah the cobra was quicker then my car.... but you had to RUNNN the gears out... they rev to 7K! and waiting for that extra 1k to pass just made me antsy.... like i wanted to shift NOW.... not wait.... when i was driving the cobra my freind in a 91 GT gears, shifter, full exhaust, MAC air intake, pulleys, and a throttle body... and he pulled away from us at the end of 3rd gear in the cobra.... i say 5.0 deep rumble sound.... plenty of cheap horsepower.... 5.0 baby

Ill say 4.6 just cause i have 1 and everyone else said 5.0, and you really should have posted this in off topic.

im goin 5 oh. its just easier and cheaper to mod. plus it sounds better ( i got a 5 liter!) not ( i got a 4.6). the 4.6 is just too long to say and "5 oh" sounds bada$$! and yes, a 302 is not a true 5.0, but this is what ford said, so stick with it. plus a 5.0 tells the difference between an original 302 and a newer one.
