Yes thats a good idea lets take one of fords worst vehicles use parts from it and the X-brand and build a high performance engine. No i wouldnt do anything like that.

And about the 347 and spray thats not in your best interest either.First a 347 is redlining the limits of the block as it is and then you add nitrous to the mix and youre asking for problems. Now on a block that wasnt used on the streets or had infinite funds for the parts that WILL fail eventually i say go for broke but if it were me i'd go no farther than a 331.Its a safe median. And still offers the same benefits as the 347.

But if you are asking my opinion on which motor in general i say BIG BLOCK!Put a 460 in it and never look back.A few years back one of the major mustang mags did a swap in a mustang that consisted of a 460 with nothing special just stock internals dual plane intake headers single four barrel and were able to hit high 10's i belive the car had something like 396 hp.That saying never fails "THERES NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT"!

No more than any other engine.Machine work will be the same. And so will just about everything else. Its the swap parts like headers and such that add up.

i will go with the 351w block it has more toure and makes more h.p. than a 289 or 302 plus you have options to stroke it.

AGAIN: No Replacement for Displacement: a storked 351W block to 427ci is not excactly cheap but will give 500hp maybe more. And it shares so many parts with the 302(heads, pistons,..) just watch the compression ratio if you are gonna use pump gas.
