Ummmmmmmmmm NO!The GT came in hatchback, notchback, and convertible as did the lx.If all is the same the lx notch will run faster that the gt due to the extra weight.

The gt and lx both share the exact same powerplants. The cobra recieved the extra goodies.

Doesn't the GT come with 3.07 gears and the LX 2.73? Shouldn't that offset the weight difference? The GT has stiffer springs and larger diameter roll bars too doesn't it?

Edit:

BTW, I'm seriously considering a 5.0 but have a hard time deciding between a GT and LX. Does all those body effects on the GTs slows them down by creating huge, ricer like drag? I'm mainly interested in autocrossing and track racing so the GT's stiffer springs is a big plus, but I'd hate to have those side moldings slow me down or kill my highway mileage. Anybody know the 5.0's Drag coefficient?

Thanks guys

there were no different gears or anything in the gt or lx. there the same car, the only difference is is the body kit and tail lights and the fact that the lx could have a 4 banger.

the notchbacks have a stiffer strutcher because they don't have the big hatchback window and it shares the stiffer floor pans with the convertibles.
