Default questions about buying a

ok where to start. i am looking at a 92 lx coupe with 120k on it. they guy told me that it is an x cop car, is this a problem? i know there are a few areas to look at like around the bell housing for leaks, but are there any other problem areas with this year. it has flowmasters, h pipe, u drive pulleys, and a couple other mods. he is asking 4200 which i think seems a lil high. is this normal for price for that year? also he will be including a gt 40 upper and lower intake plenum. how difficult is this to add, and what do i have to do to install it? thanks

if the body and interior are both in good shape, then that's not too bad. find out how good he was about maint. on the vehicle. also try to see how much he raced the car. if all is well, offer him 4k take it or leave it, and that would be a pretty sweet deal!!! also the gt-40 is about a 600$ mod that is not hard to install

The price seems alittle high for the mileage, but like spike said if the exterior and interior are in good shape offer the guy like 3500 to 4000. The intake is a bit of a pain. your going to have to pull the injector and the rails to install the lower. but the upper is pretty easy. Good luck with the car. keep us intouch on what you do.

ok so heres what i found out just from lookin at the outside today. the tires look a lil cracked, a dent in the drivers side rear quarter panel, some chiped paint along the back lip of the drivers door, faded side mirrors, no radio, a few stains on the carpet and behind the rear tires, there is alot of road debris and sh*t. with all this wrong with it would 3000 be a better price or even lower than that??? and with the road tar kick up, can that be just buffed out??? im takin it for a test drive tomorrow so ill be finding out what the drivetrains like then. thanks and ill be updating again soon.

hey 92stanglx, the car sounds pretty beat up, dont keep your eyes set on this car, if your price range is like 4500 there are plenty of cars out there with less milage and in better condition. keep us posted on what you decide to do

ya, ecr's right, i start over and look for a diferent one. after you purchase the car, you'll probably start coming across problems one right after another. i'm speaking from experience. it's not fun to be w/out wheels cause your messing with yours. autotrader .com is the sh*t!!!!!! that's how i found the one that i have now
