A really agressive cam will make your car seem like a dragster, with that rumble sound and look.

But just throwing in a Cam will make the car run really sh!tty, need to upgrade just about everything.
Also of this is a Daily Driver car you wont like it at all, you will be stalling like crazy and would be running way to rich and rough.

true, drag cars sound like that because they are not made for reliability or to be driven on the street.

they have high horsepower parts and huge cams with lots of overlap and duration.

stick with parts that make power, not kill the power.

if you really want it to sound like that, just pull off 1 or 2 spark plug wires.
it will run about the same as if you put a huge cam in a stock motor.

If you just want that crackly sound do it how the dragsters do it, run open long tube headers. You may end up burning some valves eventually but you'll have the sound you want. Also watch out for cops, they don't like that stuff.

keep in mind when you start to get into the more serious cams you might have vacuum issues in lower RPMs which means your brake booster wont work all that well. Vacuum canisters are one way to go, but its more crap in the engine compartment. They do sell Hydraulic boosters that run off of your power steering pump, but your looking at $$$

The only REAL way to get a cool sound is a big block though[sm=gears.gif]

get some long tube headers with an x pipe and some flowmaster american thunder mufflers.
then it will be loud!
I put a b-303 cam in my old motor with my stock heads and it made more power from 4000-6000rpm, but had no low end.
it actually made the car slower.
with the stock cam I ran a consistent 14.3 @ 96mph
with the b-303 I could only get a 14.7 @ 94mph

you need heads for any cam to work well and the parts have to match.
