Default Quick question !!

hey guys im new to the forum, my first post.</P>

Ive reading these forums for about a month now and i am thinking about purchaseing a fox body mustang. There is alot of info on these boards but i was wondering if maybe som1 could throw me a link to like a car dictionary site? -- I'm somewhat car dumb and i don't really know what some of the terms mean so if there is even a site that excist that tells me some of these terms id appreciate it.</P>

Also if there is a site that goes into great detail about certain parts and EXACTLY what they do, perhaps a specific mustang site?</P>

Thanks, ahead of time</P>

Default Quick question !!

Well w/o beating a dead horse, ive been reading the exhaust post and..</P>

I have a question about the exhaust system.</P>

It goes from your heads down to your headers and then runs across your xpipe/h-pipe. WIth that said could i run a mustang from that point, or do i need a muffler or a catback system?</P>

We dont have emission checks here so i really dont have any use for a cat converter, so would th catback system be useless for me?</P>

Could i just run some long pipes out of the x-pipe and call it a day or would i lose hp b/c of it?</P>

Sorry with the noob questions, im just kinda confused.</P>

actually catless h-pipes/x-pipes are much cheaper than catted ones... and unless you want your car annoyingly loud i suggest getting some mufflers... just dont get 3 chambers if you want to be loud....

btw welcome to the boards im gonna be coming out my newbieness soon....well i rebuilt my motor i think that should count <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley8.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>bmorrisj</editID><editDate>37992.6763541667</editDate></edited>

stangnoob, i love the name. welcome to the forum!! if you have any questions on anything just post, we will never make fun of you because fo a lack of knowledge. we are here to help you, not harass you (at least most times, *L*) where do you live that you dont need emission sh*t? i want to move there!! i would run longtubes with catless x-pipe anda MAC cat-back. that would be sick exhaust system!!

its all to your taste stangnoob. If you dont haveta worry about emissions then definatly go with an x or h pipe without cats. MAkes your car breathe much better then from there its your choice to put mufflers on it or not. If ya decide to id suggest magnaflows they're pretty nice
