clutch noise from under dash
whenever i start my car in the morning as soon as i touch the clutch pedal a little and start to push it in i hear a sound like vaccum sucking or blowing air in somewhere. i dont remember hearing it all the time. my father suggested it was normal but i dont think it is... btw how long do the stock clutches last and what is a good replacement. i plan on adding parts soon.

well stock clutches last varying amounts. With my sister and me learning how to drive standard on it, my parent's miata ate a clutch in 40k miles (and me doing a 5th gear standing start to see if it could be done, answer: yes, but don't expect the smell to go away very soon). On the other hand a friend of mine got over 180k on the clutch in his Legend.
It's probably not anything to worry about, but with a 100k on it I'd think about a new clutch just for the peace of mind.

I believe i have the same sound as you. When i push in my clutch, it makes a wirring noise. My auto tech teacher suggested that it was the throwout bearing, but it was nothing to be worried about.

RE: clutch noise from under dash
well, my noise is getting louder and i am starting to hear a churp, churp, churp sound when the clutch is being pressed in. It is definatly the throwout bearing. New clutch, throwout bearin, pilot bearing, and cable kit is in the mail.

after installing above, the noise is gone...the clutch was almost grinding metal and the throwout bering was shot..could barely turn by hand. It seems that the bearing might have hampered hp as well if it was haveing trouble turning!
