and shifting at 3k isnt the right rpm all the time. you have to have feel for the car to know when to actually shift it. or alot of stick cars come factory with a shift light.

I don't know how effective it is, but after shifting to 2nd gear, I shift into 3rd gear around 300 rpms before redline and for 4th gear I shift around 500 rpms before redline as I feel the most 'umph' from it.

You are right about a dyno run, it would give you a good idea to when your peak shifting points would be.

but when normal driving going to around 3k is bad? it's not always 3k when i shift tho sometimes its a little before or a little after...</P>
