you cant just bypass it with a shorter belt. you have to buy the smog pump delete kit. i got a smog pump delete kit on my car and i love it. i picked up about 5 hp from it . i would take it off if you dont have emissions to pass.

the main reason for removing the smog pump is to save weight because the smog pump doesnt make that much drag. a couple hp worth at best

yeah you can bypass it with a shorter belt if you want but its a lot better to take it off all the way. i have mine bypassed right now but ive only driven it about 2 tanks of gas since i did it.

Yes you can bypass it dont spend extra money on a delete kit just use a shorter belt and remove the pump. cap of the hose at the h-pipe and the the pipe going to the heads, but if your still running cats they will clog up over time.

i have tried to by pass the pump but i couldnt ever figure out a way to run the belt . you cant just run the belt the same way because when you dont go around the smog pump there isnt any tention on the tentioner pulley. maybe someone can send a link of a picture of this because i tried several different ways and i couldnt find a way to do it at all. maybe fox's belt is ran differently. remember that i have a SN95.

if your cats clog up then they become more of a restriction then they already are. there for your sacrificing hp to get hp, in the end you really didn't gain anything.
