Default Upgrades without sacrificing gas milage?

I use my Mustang for everyday use and put some milage on it. With gas prices being where there at what kind of HP upgrades can I add to it without sacrificing gas milage?

Basically just the little stuff. But basically anything that you do to your car that is going to increase your horsepower/torque is going to cause a drop in your gas mileage. Here are some minor things that you can do that wont kill it.

CAI
65mm TB
Mass Air Upgrade (if you have MA)
Catback
Gears (3:55s)
Pulleys
Maybe U/L Manifold

If you want some good power go with a bottle IMO. But I would also upgrade the gears and exhaust if you havent already.

If he drives on the interstate alot the gears will hurt him, that's the only thing that I am afraid of after I get my gears, I'm on the interstate doing 75mph for about 45 miles per day. IDK how an AOD + 3.73s will be on the interstate, hope it don't kill my gas mileage too much.

cai cold air intake!also advance the timing as much as possible as long as it is not pinging will increase power gas mileage and reduce the temp at which the engine runs!!

Yea I make the commute between Austin and San Antonio about 3 times a week, its 70 miles one way. You think gears would hurt me there?

Yes, gears will hurt you pretty bad there. 420 miles on the freeway a week is going to be affected by gears alot, youll loose gas faster because youll be cruising at a higher rpm on the freeway. If you were interested, N20 would be your best best, 75 shot or under. Wet would be nice if you mount it on the lower intake manifold. Anywhere else is asking for trouble, fuel isnt meant to go through the intake manifold or throttle body. A dry shot is safe if you get some other stuff, a flip chip helps with dry shot alot, as well as msd ignition box that will automatically retard your timing when the juice is on. You could run a 100 shot or 125 if you got the ignition box.

its hard to say... gas mileage is all on how you drive, 2 people driving the same exact car can come up with different mpg all on there attitude of driving. as for mods that will help hp but not hurt mpg, i know a few guy on corral and stangnet that have a full h/c/i swap, all the supporting mods and 3.73 gears with well over 24 mpg highway. it's all on the tune, and stay way from big loopy cams... they will get you in trouble! horse power is all about velocity, if you can increase the velocity of air going in and/or out of the car you will increase your hp. if you belong to stangnet, try finding a guy named Michael Young... i talked to him about his set up, and he was pulling 26-27 mpg will a fully moded engine.

as for mods:
tune up!!!!! plugs, wires, cap, etc.
headers, mid pipe, catback
bah to CAI get a k&n drop in...same damn thing
pulleys
efan
