RE: cam size???????
it would be a waste of money
if you put in new heads, and upgraded the intake, along with maybe pistons then you'd see a bigger gain than with the stock motor.
actually the stock cam isn't bad from what the motor is... it's the heads and intake that restrict it the most

Unless your just going for the sound a performance cam makes, i would put the money elsewhere.
I dont know what mods are done to your car thus far but if you cant put stock power to the ground then i would put the money into the suspension.
If you are just going for sound then i would recommend the trickflow stage 1 with 1.6 rockers.

You could try calling Crane, Comp, Lunati, Isky, TF, Crower, or any other major cam manufacturer. They have tech lines for a reason. Give them your specs & they'll recommend a cam with better accuracy than the internet (no offense to those for with real cam knowledge). You'd be best off with supporting work first (heads, intake, exhaust), since there isn't a whole lot the stock package can do regardless of the cam.

RE: cam size???????
I disagree with all of u guys! my last 5.0 was an '87 LX and I had a damn good setup. I did have a cam with stock heads. the comp cam xtreame energy with 224 duration. the only thing i did to the actual motor to help it was I put #24 injectors in it. everything ran fine. it had a motor rebuild only about 15k ago when i did it though, so everything was fresh. u dont need heads and manifold and all of that bull. just know how to tune it right and it shouldnt have any problems.
