stock or aftermarket heads??
i was wondering about my carb swap today (wont be for a while, probably august). i want to get a non-egr intake and non- egr carb and take out all of the smog sh*t and everything emissions. what would i need to do to cap off all of the emissions sh*t from the heads so i dont get any problems with leaks, etc??is there even emission sh*t that goes into the heads?? if there isnt then what is the differance between emissions legal and non-emissions legal heads?? i dont think i will have enough money to get aftermarket non-emissions heads (trick flow track heat) with the rest if the stuff needed to complete the build-up. i can post the list of stuff if anyone wants to see it.

and 1 more q... will a road demon carb fit on an edelbrock air gap intake?? i wantFACTS, not "i think so" and if noone knows i will call summit. THANKS!!!

Well i know that if you have a pipe going to both heads in the back you have a air pump pumping fresh in into the heads for emissions and that you will need to plug and remove that.Ford sells the plugs to do this.As far as the holley on the edelbrock i dont know im an edelbrock guy i can tell you and edelbrock will fit.

As far as heads go what do you have now? What year is the block and heads? If its an E7TE set of heads you can get them to really flow for stock heads if you dont mind porting them at home. The best thing to do is get a set of those or even maybe a set of 289 heads there are a few good stock heads to start with but to get anything out of them you will need to atleast port them.

no no , old iron heads from a 351 will bolt to a 302 , the right ones have ports that flow better than stock e7 heads , with small investment 400-500 a pair , you can get real good numbers from them . bounce the seat with a new angle , new valves minor port work..... and you can have heads aproching some aftermarket ones if not as good , pending on the extent of porting and which casting .

Yes but how much $$ are you going to drop on the porting. Not everybody is comfortable taking a grinder to a set of heads they just dropped $500 on. Shop labor adds up real fast, especially if you've gotta top it off with a valve job. Your $500 set of heads can reach $1000 pretty quick I'd imagine, and by that point you might be better off getting a new set of aluminum heads for slightly more (or used aftermarket) and shaving a few pounds off the nose of your car.
