Hello, first time topic poster lol. Just found this forum glad to find it. The last i was just dealing with 2.3 tuboed site, thanks to a nice totaling of that stang, im up in the 5.0 league. Question is mainly what should i do first? I thought about stiffenint the chassis a lil bit with some strut braces and some subframes, since i have a convertible? but than again, i just had to put cats on my car to pass E-check in ohio, so now i feel like ihave no power lol. This bitch is i want a lil more power, till winter is over than i go with the full rebuild. What are some good ways to increase power, easily and fairly cheap, or what options do i have out there to give it a quick easy boost in the HP. thanks alot hope to get some good advice, as to im new to the 5.0 world

cold air intake kitdoes not cost much and breathing is allways a good thing.

ive got the cold air with K&N cone filter on it already, that and MAC echaust is all i have. I just got the car and since ihad to have cats put on to get my plates, i noticed quite a bit of power loss just with those as well as my nice loud car is now quite ( .But gthe good thing my gas mileage is a wee bit better. How big of a bitch is it to pput underdrive pulleys and stuff like that on. and can the lil bolt on stuff give a change of power??? AAnything i can do to get some power is worth it, as long as i dont have to pull the engine(just yet waiting for summer time)All i have heard of is the underdrive pulleys and cold air, anything else out there???there has to be some ways? thanks

a chip can help for around $400 to $500. Do you still have factory headers if so they take some power because they are crimped. back to breathing LOL

you dont need a chip, that is a waste of money unless your making some serious power

I agree with ohso, if your rebuilding it in the spring/summer anyway.... spray it.

I'd put some headers and underdrive pulleys...maybe some new gears (3.73s) or (4.10s). That's a good start.

longtubes, gears, save up for heads/intake/cams when you do the rebuild <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
