So the struts that prop the trunk up on either side have been exposed to a lot of extreme cold here in St. Louis. Today I opened the trunk and closed it and the right side was hissing six ways to sunday. I believe the ring inside has cracked or something, but I think that it may get better once it heats up. The plunger is just a rubber washer isn't it? Ordering a new one isn't a problem, but just wondering if the inside is metal and will or will not fix itself.
