Convertible Roof Moulding Removal
Has anyone here ever changed a convertible top? I'd like to know how to remove the moulding around the trunk at the back of the car where the back window and roof meet the belt line of the car. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have not done the actual top replacement but had to put the boot 'bag' back in mine. You could see the top motor, lines, relays etc over the back seat. From the inside, there are nuts holding the bottom of top in place along the back panel. These nuts screw onto studs that are part of the car. Saw a bag of them on ebay as replacements. I had some of the square washers and nuts missing when I got the car.
Mine had the RR qtr panel replaced and the dog-breaths that did the work did not spend much time putting it all back together. Just put back what they could find.
To your question, You don't have to take the back nor side trim off to replace the top. It unbolts from the inside of the car. If you want to take that trim off, you have to take off the entire panel at the top of the trunk. You can see the screws that hold it when the trunk is open.
