with that cam you'll be ok...bmorris is right on the s/c thing...you can flycut pistons in the car. it's not a perfered method..it doesn't hurt your pistons..I use an old H/G and some playdough or silly pully to check clearances..what head or you using?...you could possible go to a 1.7 rocker

Default Fly cut

They are a set of stock heads with 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust, 3 angle cut, port and polish on intake runners, race flow valves(stainless steel) I would like to go with 1.7, but I don't want to hit the piston with the valve.

How do you measure the clay&gt; Do you use a micrometer? Do you use a cylinder that is on the top most postition and apply the head?

to check valve clearance take a razor blade and cut your putty in half and ckeck depth with a machinists ruler that has thousandths.
