I have seen a couple of 94-98 mustangs with 350 and 400sb installed in them I am currently putting a 95 lt1 with a 6 speed in my 96 mustang.
I got the 95 TA wrecked for $1400 and the 96 not running for $600 So I can"t see how I can go wrong. I Like being different any way.

Haven't read the rest of the posts, probably won't bother. I was gonna help out, till you shot yourself in the foot. Take the free motor, sell it, buy a 351.

Anyone who would put a chevy engine in a stang is not a true stanger. put that 350 in a s-10 or something and build a 351windsor

i have been kicking around putting a ls1 in the notch. y not ford blocks split? ls1 all aluminum 6bolt mains; how often do you hear about people splitting ls1's? i haven't.

if this guy with this 351 doesn't pick up the phone then that might be the direction i go. Some of you all need to be a little bit more open minded. This is hotrodding at its best. remember fast is fast no matter what is under the hood.

some of you all are just die hard ford fans i guess [sm=closed.gif]

I've never cared who made the parts as long as it looks good, sounds good, and makes me happy when I drop the hammer on it. LS1 in a Fox is a very popular swap, so is a Windsor, so is a 460. I'm planning a Cleveland in a Fox but if a great deal came along on something I liked better, I'd do it. Only time I get pissed off by swaps is when something not easily replaceable, is altered without reason. For example, a neighbor removed and sold the numbers matching 4 spd, and engineout of his 65 GTO to help finance installing an ls1-t56. Thats just wrong(cost him big when he sells it). Miata with a 5.0? cool theres a million of em, Fox with a BBC, fine, RX-7 with a ls1, yeehaw got a ride in one of those, its scary fast.
It's not about chevy vs ford, it is about going fast and hopefully looking good while you do it or going faster than the guy in the staging lane next to you.

I wish people would be more openminded. Some people are true car guys, make it fast, reliable, and cheap, nomatter who makes it. and for all of you "made in america" people, im all for using USA parts, but remember that some other bands are made in america too. I work at a machine shop in ohio and we build dies for all types of cars and do production parts for honda's and other brands, where ford runs away to mexico. -Jon

i'm not going to knock the 350 in a notch. but i will say if it were me i would go with lsx engine. you will get far greater gas mileage and reliability. my ls2 in the gto got 27.6 today, it dynoed at 317/319. there are many lsx out there with 700+ rwhp that don't split in half. and it's lighter than the 350, 302, 351, 460, 352, or most any other old school technology. you can make power from a 350 far more easily than you can with a ford at a far cheaper price and simple facts, chevy's made where a dummy can work on it. it's hard to put the wrong parts on a chevy. 267,262,302,305,307,283,327,350 all those use the same rod size, 267,350,305 all use the same crank size. heads that fit the 327 will fit the 302 and also 350. stroker kits are cheap, heads are cheap, pushrods are all the same lengths. very simple. caveman technology. and reliable.

nothing wrong with true car guys but this is a mustang forum aka FORD. I don't want to hear anything about a chevy engine, try a different forum such as a chevy one.
