on occasion,more often than not lately,my car is having trouble starting.the engine cranks however it takes several attempts before it will start.i had it tuned up about a year ago and thats when it seems like it started(this prob.).the car is running great after it starts.i changed the fuel filter and got a new fuel pump but it is still doing the same thing.someone suggested changing the dist pick up coil and if that doesnt work,it might be the module.every time i take tomy mechanic it starts perfectly,i am getting frustrated.any suggestions on what i should do to take care of this?

timing or fuel pressure sound like to me, have the timing checked if not off then go get acap and rotorthey arecheap start there.

did you change your cap and rotor? if the module went bad it wouldnt start at all. how are your plug wires? how old is your coil? check your electrical connections to see if you have any bad connections.

i havent changed the rotor or cap in about 18 months, only about 25000, miles ago,plug wires are new,dist coil is original from 94.

You might try the stater coil in the distributor. That was my problem in my 94 gt vert,the engine would turn, but no fire. It cost me about $35 and about 4to 5 hours to install. Becarful not to bend the shaft on the distibutor!!!!<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0">

It's the fuel pump. Try turning the key to the "on" position a few times without cranking it over, then try starting it. If it starts right up after that, it's the fuel pump.

hows the weather in utah?? could be a batt (less starting power) which could be affected even more if it is cold out, like it is here (hence the weather question). get the batt tested at autozone er somethin.
