I say you could beat it.Those T/A's werent really hopped up back then.And besides the fact of it being a big block it really was a peformance engine.It was just an olds motor and pretty tame compared to other big blocks of that era.

400'S RAN PRETTY GOOD, THE 403 WAS A TIRD, BACK THEN I HAD A 81 Z-28 WITHA 305 4BBL 4 SPEED 3.42 GEAR AND IT WOULD TAKE A 403 T/A BUT NOT A 400 T/A.
