Default Exhaust??!!

dont try to put all that air through the stock heads. get aftermarket heads first. you should get a new cam too for the full useage of the power. the block should be okay as long as you keep the compression pretty low and get a gurdle. trick flow sells one for about $200 in summit. it also depends on how much boost you will be running, so dont go crazy with the boost. MAC sells a sick cat-back. you can hear it at www.mustangworld.com in the sounds link at the bottom. with longtubes and a o/r x-pipe you will scare the sh*t out of the ricers!! or, better and louder yet, go with straight pipes. congrats on finally moving to a real car and good luck. there should be plenty of rice on the table!

Default Exhaust??!!

mkspeed....the charger i got said it runs 15-22psi. i live in florida, is str8 pipes even legal? im not really conserded (holy crap if i dont know how to spell) with the police cuz iv been pulled many of times with my supra having no exhaust at all running a str8 downpipe, buti would have to get a custom job with a local body shop right? heres a better question, i still have 3 days to cancel my supercharger order b4 i get a restocking fee, should u cancel it and just stay stock? five oh stangs get really crappy gas mileage as it is, if i add 85%+ power, what would that give me in the gas mileage then? like 6 city, 10 hw? im planning on driving to virginia to visit my folks in like a month, should i not bother driving the mustang?

15-22 is HIGH boost, you have a good chance of splitting the block with that. if you get h/i/c (such as the trick flow kit from summit) and some longtubes with an o/r x-pipe and MAC cat-back (that is what you should do, the cops will get you if you go with straight pipes), a new mass air meter, chip, and fuel pump. that will give you about 350 hp (total, not increase) for less than 3k.add a 331 stroker kit for 1300. that will give youTONS ofpower and torque, a fresh engine, be legal, and you will still get okay mileage. then you can add a charger later when you save up for a better block by COMPLETELY DESTROYING the ricers.

Default Exhaust??!!

well after me kicking and screaming at the shop, i got the charger returned with only a $300 restock fee. iv got it down to a finly tuned 5 step program. and the charger doesnt kick in until step 4. the one im lookin at now is slightly cheaper but runs 6-8psi. its a vortech system. im just gonna ride the mustang for a while and have some fun b4 i beef it up. but when i do, can i hook up a boost gauge to the charger and read boost that way? im used to turbos and am not familar with superchargers that much.
