Default 1994 Mustang GT purchase advice

Someone is selling a very nice 1994 GT Convertible w/automatic, A/C, CD, cruise in red exterior+white leather interior with only about 20,000 miles on it. The car appears to be in very good condition with only some cleaning needed inside. It has new tires, exhaust tips, tonneau cover, cloth storage cover, some other improvements (airflow & exhaust) to boost the horsepower a bit. Paint looks good with only a few scratches and one or two bad touchups. Barely driven last several years. I find it a little slow off the line and loud until you get going, but I think that is expected for this 5.0 V8 engine and otherwise it's a sharp looking car.

Some questions:
1. Nada shows $8300, Kelly Blue Book shows $5900, and edmunds shows about $6000. What's a good offer? The current owner is asking ~$10k.
2. There is no grill behind the horse on the front end. Is that they way it came in 94?
3. Consumer reports shows the model year as being weak in Cooling and Electrical. Are there specific things I should have looked at by a mechanic? Any big maintenance items I should be concerned about?

thanks,

-don

$10k is asking WAY too much, I don't care what mileage is on the engine. I'd offer $6,500 at best and I wouldn't pay a dollar more. Keep in mind that that is my absolute top dolalr, depending on how nice it really is and how much he has kept it up.

Hell, I'm not sure I'd ask 10K for mine, and that's a 95 GT convertible with gears, full exhaust, supercharger, nitrous, methanol, sound system, rebuilt tranny, subframes, suspension, ratchet shifter, shift kit, Tweecer RT, etc...

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'm going to have to make a lower offer and give him my number. Hopefully he won't find someone willing to overpay. Any idea on the other questions? Should there be a front grill behind the pony? Are there weak points I should have checked out on the vehicle? Anything special on the power roof other than to make sure it works?

thanks,
