Default how to prevent hood flying open?

well i am getting down to the last stages of the build and i need to decide if i am going to put my hood pins back in. it looks so much cleaner when they are not installed. i would really like to not use them but how do i prevent my hood from popping open on the highway? will just the latch and safety latch be enough?

Get a metal cowl hood if you don't want hood pins, or take your chances without the pins on a fiberglass hood.

If your factory latch is properly adjusted and the secondary latch is working, you have nothing to worry about. I don't have hood pins and have been trouble free for 4 years now.

From what I gathered if the hood has a steel latch like the factory one then you're okay without hood pins, if it doesn't i guess the latch has been known to rip through the fiberglass latch part on the hood... I wouldn't trust fiberglass to hold my hood down.

5 yrs of using the original OE latching mechanism on a fiberglass hood and I've never had a problem.
But then again when I close my hood and I always double check to make sure the hood is locked and closed.

No pins here! Latch and catch is all you need, if they are properly adjusted!
