Default *** UPDATED w/ **Vids** Track times & dyno***** HP Performance Stg3 T76 install *56k Death*

Well after almost 4 months and almost calling HP everyday after the first 6 weeks i received all of my stage 3 turbo parts,,,, i am very impressed with the quality of work done by HP,,,,,but of course the customer service sucks harder than a kirby!!

Started the install yesterday, the headers went on great they were easy to install they allowed enough room so that you can get a nice ratcheting box end on the 3/8" bolts no problem easiest headers i have ever installed, i cut out my fender where they showed in their instructions, mounted the turbo, everything was going great and looked very nice,

i tried to install the long *** downpipe along side my mcleod bellhousing and mini starter, luckily it actually cleared but the damn thing is so long and i dont have a lift i opted to cut it where i think it would come out and exhaust would be easy to tie into, i ended up cutting about 1.5' off the end of the DP,, so got that slid up underneath the passenger header, i tried to v-band the upper downpipe to the turbo,, well guess what??? IT DOESNT FIT,, the damn thing doesnt clear the crossover pipe coming outta the passenger header,

i guess HP DOESNT mock up everyone of their kits b/c if they did they wouldnt found this out,, so i had to add a couple inches to make it all clear,, THANKS A LOT HP now i get to send it off for coating again,,

oh yeah they also forgot to weld in O2 bungs into my DP too,, THANKS

you know when you pay for one of these kits and you have to wait for it this long you would think that they would at least make sure things kinda fit and their parts actually go together,,

as for the quality of the kit i give it a 9
as for the fitment of the kit i give it a 8 just because i had to do some fab work
as for the looks i give it a 10
customer service i give a -100000000

here are some pics of my install so far, gotta send the upper DP to get coated and everything else went just fine just gotta do a lil more tweaking

all that i lack now is running oil line, bought a new msd digital 6 and hvc II coil to replace my crane Hi6 gotta wire that up, wire up two step, run fuel lines, tank, reg, filters, pump, rails, and thats pretty much it, should have it finished this weekend with exception of the downpipe

You may already know this. Unfortunatly i did not. My car lost spark, and i measured voltage at coil. I did not have any, so my dumbass jumped 12 volts directly to coil and it fried my MSD DIG 6. Capacitive discharge means there will not be any voltage at coil with ignition on but not running. I was just used to the normal way, that being you should have 12 volts at coil with ign. on. I sent it to MSD and they said it was "Economicaly Unrepariable". I burned a ground trace and tried to repair it myself, i am an electronics tech, it did not work. I called them and asked them about repair and told them what happended, they said max charge to fix box would be $88, i thought i was going to get lucky, but wound up having to buy another one. The original problem had nothing to do with the MSD, i was running a COMP polymer dizzy gear and it shredded, that was my spark problem.

CAPACITIVE DISCHARGE
The MSD Digital 6 Plus features a capacitive discharge ignition design. The majority of stock ignition systems are inductive ignitions. In an inductive ignition, the coil must store and step up the voltage to maximum strength in between each firing.

yeah just pisses me off to wait so long and then have their pieces not fit, i mean i could see it if it hit my bellhousing or block or something but not their pieces not fitting together themselves, but i really didnt figure that it would be just a "bolt on" anyway, oh well itll be another week before the start up
