the i-roc z and gta from 89 to 92 with the 5.7had the l98 motor 245hp the mustang will hang right with it,if not beat it. my 89 gta got beat by stock 5.0'sback in the day

actually there are claims on ls1tech that the 4th gens arent de tuned from the factory the 2001 and 2002 350 cars some came out as ls6 block and some with ls6 heads they would most likely perform as well as a vette just not in the twistys.... my freind is putting down 400 hp to the wheels in his 01 camaro with just a cam and full exhaust....

Thats entirely incorrect. the 01 and 02 did have a small chance of getting the block(less than 10 percent) and if they did get it there where no horsepower gains what so ever. Thy did not get the ls6 heads, the got the ls6 intake, which gave them about 15 additional horsepower. It has never been documented that the 01 and 02's ever got the ls6 heads. But it would be nice though. And yes they were detuned, the vettes came out with 350 HP (400 with the Z06 on the same engine)andmost of thef-bodies came out with 325. But you are right the handling is no where near a vettes

im sorry but if he had headers, exhaust and intake , and ran a 16.7....or running a 16.7 at all in a 5.0 hes just got some serious problems with his car. as for the 5.0s vs the 5.7s.....cmon. what you expect.thats almost a full liter. racing a 305 shouldnt bea problem for mustangs, theyre pathetic. either way, i love my mustang, theyre by far easier to work on than any gm car ive ever worked on, not expensive to buy nor mod, and imo they look better and are way more comfortable. sn95s anyway. ive never owned a foxbody.

Yeah thats why they put a stang in tokyo drift!
No GM is keeping it a big secret....so they can just up the horsepower just enough to beat out the challenger and mustang.......cheap move, but it works

doesnt the mustang come with 5 cats? when i had my stock trans am, i never lost to a stock mustang, unless it was modded, then it would eat my heavy cars A$$!
