Is it wrong that I'm actually starting to feel bad for this guy? I mean if this is real... then he destroyed a good motor by probably getting bad advice from someone. Hell, maybe they told him to do it to be a jerk knowing that it would cause damage. Besides, all the motor really would need is new bearings, ringsand gaskets... probably no machine work. So it wouldn't cost too much to get it running again... however, I don't recommend that this guy does thework... pay someone who knows what they're doing this time.
If this is for real.. I'll give you 500 for the car as it sits.. even come pick it up where ever your at. Lmao, I think a cobra body would suit the motor out of the clunker just fine

new rings and bearings? ill be the first to admit that im no expert but i would expect there would be some seizing going on which = new rotating assembly idn guys correct me here.
There is no way someone who knows enough to jack up the car enough to get under, find the oil pan, remove the drain plug, let the oil drain, would think you can run water through the crankcase.
Capris.....
If there really was water in the cylinders....the rust factor alone makes machine work guaranteed. you know he didnt immediately pull the heads and dry everything. those pistons are welded to the walls after this much time. most likely. and thats just the start i would think

I wouldn't think the rings are shot, no water in the cylinders and it only ran a few mintes. Just the fact that the oil pump was pumping water to the all the bearings, the lifters, rockers...... Water wont break up oil so the was probably still some film on the cylinder walls. I would guess new bearings, lifters and maybe time for a cam swap.....that should fix it....maybe.
