Default 4 cyl to V8 conversion

Seen some conflicting informatio on this when I tried a search.
Anyone that has done this please chime in.

4 cyl to 302 - V8 conversion.

1. Does the K-member need to be swapped out or is it the same?

2. What trans will be in a 5 speed 4cyl, if T-5 is it the same as 5.0 T-5 ?

3. Front and rear swaybars ?

Any other info you want to share would be great too.

1. Same
2. 2.3 isn't as strong, and the input shaft is smaller
3. Front one on the 2.3 is smaller than the 5.0 and there is no rear sway bar on the 2.3 also

You need the wiring harness from the 5.0. It has more connections and the proper wiring connections where as the 2.3 has only half the connections of the V8... Swap a complete engine bay harness over

Yeah, but does the engine bay harness plug in at the firewall plugs of the 4 cyl?

Does the A9L computer plug into the 4 cyl wireharness under the dash?

From all the information I've seen and read the 5.0 harness is just like the 2.3, just more connections for the injectors and sensors.

As for the computer, the harness goes through the firewall, it doesn't just connect at the fire wall, but through it and staight to the computer...

Not really..it'll really depend on the year.....my 92 had DIS ignition = no dizzy and no tfi module and has crank sensor........the only way you will do the swap and have less of a headache is use a 5.0 wire harness.......way to much butcher work to make a 4cyl harness work and it'd depend on the year you planned to use also...........
