A two post lift requires a really thick concrete base and 12' or taller ceilings- most home garages dont have those things.

ORIGINAL: FrostByte
Not high enough for tranny/motor lifts to get underneath either.
Our motors and transmissions come out the top not the bottom
I found you can pull the entire motor/trans assem out the top easier
than trying to wrestle a trans into place over your head, regardless of space available

I was also going to fab up 4 simple stands to put under tires too
and you could drop it down and have it sitting on its tires 14" off the ground very easily.

Why not pay a few hundred more and get a two post car lift?
75"+ lift height
Post lifts are great but .......

take up a lot of space
are a pain to install
cant take it over to my friends house to work on his car
cant take it with me when/if I move
ect.
ect.

Portability and low storage impact are important to me.
You can move it with you if you moveand your friends can come to your place.
But I can agree with the other ones.
I can't talk though, I'll still be usng floor jacks and jack stands.
Yes... then they leave all their used oil, coolant, shop rags, old parts, and their mess with you for you to clean up later...

Just talked to the guy for a long time
sounds like a very well built unit.

After its up in the air you can remove one of the cross bars
and be able to do trans, drive shaft and exhaust work

It can not collapse. It requires just as much power from the drill
to lower it as it does to raise it due to saftey self locking gearing system.

Infinitely adjustable to any height.

Mine is on order. Hope to have it by Friday

Not bad for something you can store against the wall... Let us know how you like it.

I do not see a problem with a couple pairs of $20 jack stands. Your car doesn't exactly move around and if they are rated at 2 tons a piece then you should not have a problem. Also I think of it this way if one collapses then the other 3 will be up long enough for you to get the hell out of there!

Ease of use is big selling point to me.

Slide this under the car, hook up drill ......
and 2.5mins later the car is on level stand and a lot higher than could ever dream of
getting it on jack stands
